I am shedding unnecessary things

                               The fat on my bones, the change in my pockets

                               And in a year’s time,

                               I will not be there with you in that lovechair by the empty furnace,

           where you sang to yourself

                               or out on the lawn to watch the helicopters,

                               to see and be seen,

                               to feel close to the ground.
